Re: strange problem in printing
the above seems to indicate that this is either a windows-only printer or has its own builtin print server. in either case, its not a "network" printer in the jet-direct sense, but rather a "remote" printer.
without being able to see the installation script, I can't tell anything for sure. What (or where) is the printer attached to?

Re: strange problem in printing
See while printing issues, your checks are as follows,
1]Check ping to printer IP/printer name from your lp server.
2]Traceroute and telnet to printer IP from server.
3]Check printer name and ip entry is there in /etc/hosts file
4]If you ve given any print, cancel that print
check,#lpstat
#cancel
5]Give test print
# lp -d
6]If nothing is working reconfigure the printer

Re: strange problem in printing
from the manual of the printer, it provides a remote queue function [lpr], try to configure it as a remote printer using the hostname testprinter, and the remote printer name lp, give this printer a new name and try sending a print job, it should work.

Re: strange problem in printing
LPP044E OM Plus request rejected for previous reason(s).
LPP630I Trying UNIX LP.
OK, so you've got OM Plus output management software installed. And the printer is definitely installed as a "remote" printer. What happens if you try to print to lp_hhrpt6, which your list indicates is a remote printer as well.
"device for lp_hhrpt6: /dev/null
remote to: text on 10.125.73.202"
Does OM Plus still issue an error message like the one above? If it doesn't, you may have to configure the new printer in OM Plus as well.
