Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.

You should contact sybase, it appears you have a license issue.

Re: sysbase cannot startup,

Check your shmmax kernel parameter. It looks like your sybase cfg memory is higher than the shared memory the kernel is set too.

also check your $SYBASE/ASE-12_0/install/RUN* file and make sure your changing the right *.cfg file, because your first weird thing to me is this "A configuration file was not specified and the default file '/home/sybase/SQ97.cfg' does not exist". I see the license complains on our systems as well, and it will not impact the main ASE sybser nor do I believe that is what it is talking about, think it affects optional features only. (Sybase could confirm this)
