syslog sanner

anyone know of a syslog scanner, floating around. looking for a tool/script perl || ksh to scan the syslog constantly looking for errors.

2 choices - build my own or get a working copy and build from there.

Re: syslog sanner

One of the first scripts every SA learns to right.

I settled on a nightly cron and email that was basically a 'grep' for day and 'vmunix'. (* Complaints are always listed in syslog.log starting with 'vmunix'. *)

The above thread has some invaluable scripts attached.
