system hangs on 100BT interface

I have an E55 (800-series)and I added a disk cabinett A3311A to it.

Now the system hangs at booting on the process

"configuring HP 100BT interfaces". How can I fix this ?

I'm working with HP-UX 10.20.

Re: system hangs on 100BT interface

Hi,
Is it hanging after connecting the disk cabinet?
May be SCSI IDs are not set properly.
I think nothing to do with 100T base interface.
Did you take a backup?

Re: system hangs on 100BT interface

you can press ctrl-\ (control backslash to interrupt the rc scripts, and then check the rc.log and syslog.log to find out what is the problem.

Good luck

Re: system hangs on 100BT interface

Hello animesh,

After some time the system did not hang after "configuring HP 100BT interfaces" but performs some sort of ioscan. The device-files are made and every disk has it's own scsi-id.

A ioscan -F lasts 30 minutes and scaning the disks in SAM is extremely slow. When we put back the backup on a configured lvol on 3 disks of this disk cabinett, it writes it to 1 disk. After 4 Gb (exact 1 disk) the system crashes.

We have already replaced the scsi-card (A28696A Wide SCSI)

This sounds like a SCSI problem, have you checked the cables and termination?
