system standby failed
in september 2005 your supervisor, pat boyle, helped with a problem with our printer/scanner. since then we have aproblem with "system standby failed" and we emphasise this relates to our laptop not the printer as sugested on case history 1211122626.
we know some time has passed but we would like to resolve this problem.
we have a busines package on ourlaptop written in Thoroughbred so please do not suggest we download drivers from you web site. See case reference 1208463232 that will clarify the situation
your help please!!!!!

Re: system standby failed
Mike/Mary
Postings in this forum are for the most part answered by "Joe Public" (like myself) and not HP support personnel (although they do sometimes contribute). As such, we don't have access to your case references.
If you want help on these forums, I would suggest that you post as much information as possible.
If you want to post the information logged against a case Id, then if you go to http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/mcm/homepageRequest.do where you can view your own cases. You can then use cut & paste to put the information into a forum posting.
Regards,
Gary

Re: system standby failed
I'd recommend that you make sure that ACPI is turned on in the bios, and make sure that your unit has the most recent bios update.
For us in the "forum", you'll need to let us know what kind of device you are using, and what OS you have loaded. Then we can be more specific.
