system won't print after var filled up

The other day var filled up. Now that var has available space, the system won't print. The print requests get put into the /var/spool/lp/request/prntname directories, but will not go into the spools for printing. Have tried to lpshut and lpsched to no avail. Can print using hpnpf, but not through the hppi diagnostics nor through lp. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

try with disable printer, then enable again.
Also anything in /var/spool/lp/log?

Any useful information if you type the command:

lpstat -t|pg

all printers are having problems. lpstat -t shows everything is happy all are enabled, accepting jobs and idle, scheduler is running. Even tried adding new printer with hppi and that printer will not print either.

Have you ever used SAM to save your printer configuration? You may still want to do this.
Try restoring it. This may clean up the FIFOs.
