time-overflow to 1.000.000.000 seconds?

I take it you mean the value of 'seconds since the epoch' which in the UK equates to Sun Sep 9 02:46:40 2001.

There didn't ought to be a problem as the standard C routines use a 'time_t' variable type which will be at least a 32 bit integer value and is good until sometime in 2037.

Interesting question though. I wonder if the 'Y2K police' are aware of it?
