uname

Hi,

Is it possible that 'uname' command displays value of additional parameter?
How can i configure this?
I would like the value of SUPPORT_ID will be included in the 'uname -a' command output

rgds,
Jarek

Re: uname

No way the HP binary is going to do that.

Re: uname

Not really - but you could create your own script to display it for you...

Re: uname

Like all you like but uname is as uname does and it would be insane for it to do as you ask because that would break things that do not expect this behavior. What is entirely possible is for you to create a uname wrapper that occurs earlier in your PATH than /bin/uname that calls /bin/uname and adds any additional information to stdout. This is the UNIX way of changing a standard command to produce non-standard results.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
