We have oracle 9.2.0.6 on two nodes cluster through serviceguard on OS(HP-UX 11.11) level, not the Oracle 9i RAC.
Now I need to upgrade to 9.2.0.8. All oracle software is on shared storage. I wonder if I can only run upgrade on the primary machine, and if there anything special I need to pay attention to.
Thanks,
Hanping Wang

Shalom,
cmhaltnode the second node.
Do the upgrade and then restart the cluster.
Thats all you should need to do. I don't see a way to maintain service with this installation setup.

Re: upgrade oracle 9i on cluster through servicegard
Hi,
In fact, you don't need to stop the stand by node.
You will need top stop the package, make a full database backup, install 9.2.0.8 patch, start database manually in migrate mode(pls, read README before doing this upgrade), apply needed patches (like catpatch.sql), shutdown database and finally, startup package again.
