We are upgrading our oracle version from 9.2.0.1 to higher patchset 9.2.0.5. Unfortunately when we are already in 99% completing in linking stage we are receiving this errors. Can somebody help us here?

thanks,

Re: upgrading 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.5

Hi,

Have you completed all the pre-requisite actions:

1. update kernel parms
2. set the ORACLE variables
3. done the linking (ie. ln -s )
4. And what is reported in the install log?

Hi Glenn,

Check Metalink Note 169706.1 and HP doc KBRC00003627.

Re: upgrading 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.5

This is a pretty big problem.

You can probably just relink the product versus doing the entire install.

Check SHLIB_PATH
variable.

This is a typical problem that shows the variable is not set according to Oracle install guidelines.

Run through the installation manual and make sure other requirements are met.

Again, you should be able to get away with only relinking, once you resolve the issue.

There are data conversion steps in the install guide, you'll need to follow those very carefully.
