Hi all,
I recently installed the VMware-server-1.0.0-24927 and created a virtual machine. When I start the server and leave it running for a periode of time my virtual machine turn on alone.
Does anyone know if there is an option for that?
I want to start my machine manually.I am not getting to solve this problem
Thanks

Re: vmware server
Shalom linuxtolinux,
There is a configuration screen that you can use to change options in the VNC server. I believe there is a check box labeled auto start if I'm not mistaken.

Solution
The VM should not have started on its own (obviously) so that is interesting behaviour.
Look in the /etc/init.d/vmware start script to see if it is turned on by default. Maybe the latest VM update (a week ago) does start all of the VM's.
If you installed all of the latest VMWare Server packages (including the latest Beta 3 version of VMWare server) you can use the Perl module to manage VM startup and stop parameters.
FYI though. You can only install the Perl module on 32 bit linux. It will not be available for 64 bit unfortunately.
Regards,
Al
