Re: what approach to install OEM on same oracle server as production database
Hi there.
If possible create a small database for OEM repository.
If not possible create a repository in the production database.
Run db agent and data gatherer on the production machine.
If you need more info let us know.

Re: what approach to install OEM on same oracle server as production database
Thanks!
I created a small db OEM on the production machine but due to vtd-0123 and vtd-10000 errors in OEM (on NT4) pointing to NLS_LANG problems (some Oracle bug), I was adviced to install the repository in a seperate $ORACLE_HOME.
So how would I handle this? Install a second copy of Oracle SW?
TIA

Re: what approach to install OEM on same oracle server as production database
Hi
If you only have problems with NLS_LANG, then I think it's enough to create a new database with other NLS-paramaters (no second installation).
But it's a good idea to install oracle twice, for example: You have no need to upgrade/patch production database if an upgrade/patch of the oem is necessary.
