Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems - Please Update Your Bookmarks
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.
If you have bookmarked forums or discussion boards in Servers and Operating Systems, we suggest you check and update them as needed.

Re: what is rpc.ttdbserver needed for!

See;

You dont really need it. Im logged in via CDE and I killed my rpc.ttdbserver process and everything is still working fine. See above link for how to disable it.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: what is rpc.ttdbserver needed for!

Hi Forumers,

we have HP-UX 11.11 WS and a customized inetd.conf, which has no entry for the ttdbserverd. Which applications needed this.
What effects can I have, if we have it not configured in inetd.conf. Which ToolTalk applications need this?

Hi Stefan,

I read the thread and all what is mentioned there is our experience, too.

So we do it like Harry said:
