Behind the Cloud: This is where it gets interesting

May you live in interesting times. – Ancient Chinese Curse

Okay. This “ancient Chinese curse” is probably the fairly recent invention of an Englishman. Whatever. Living through interesting times isn’t always a curse, but it can bet it’s challenging. Just ask anyone in IT.

Cloud has made for interesting times, indeed.

And exploring what’s interesting about cloud is the mission of my new show: “Behind the Cloud.” Just as my colleagues Bill Franklin and Mark Interrante cut through the cloud marketing speak with “Jargon-Free Cloud,” I’ll talk to engineers about the infrastructure and hardware that runs the cloud.

Think of it as a behind-the-scenes look at the people and technology helping to drive the Third Revolution of Computing.

There’s no better place to kick off the show than the OpenStack Summit in Barcelona next week.

I’ll interview Mark Interrante, SVP of Engineering,  about what the OpenStack community is doing to make the open source cloud platform simpler and more scalable.

I’ll also be talking to Bruno Zerbib, HPE Cloud’s VP of Product Management, about why he thinks OpenStack is ready to run an enterprise’s most sensitive, mission-critical applications.

For those of you with an appetite for hardcore technical content, I’ll take a deep dive into HPE Helion OpenStack 4.0 with Mark Perreira, Chief Architect of NFV.

Have questions you think I should ask? Tweet me @contentjester. No softballs!

I currently focus on the HPE Helion brand, building all visuals and messaging content for all worldwide digital uses since launching brand in March 2013.

About the Author

It all started back in 1984 when I convinced my dad, who was an entrepreneur starting his own company, that with the new Mac that was just announced he could do customized bills and letters with graphics and photos on a desktop printer from a small desktop computer. We went to LA and looked at the new Mac+ with MacPaint/Draw package and bought one right there. I created logos, invoices, letters, marketing monthly's all in MacDraw and MacPaint. So began my digital content career.... and now I build content teams and strategies to deliver 24/7 integrated marketing campaigns.
