HP Helion Network Ecosystem Summit: The Helion Network Launches Push to Expand Membership

Summit Overview

HP hosted the Helion Network Ecosystem Summit at Discover Las Vegas on Monday, June 1.


At the Summit, senior executives from more than 100 service providers, software vendors and resellers came together to hear about the Helion Network, an ecosystem of HP partners that will collaborate with HP to build, sell and deliver cloud services based on Helion technology.


The Summit Agenda

The agenda featured presentations from key leaders including Meg Whitman, Steve Dietch, and Patrick Harr.



The Summit agenda focused on providing attendees with an introduction to the Helion Network, the ecosystem strategy and objectives of the program.   We also shared how the Helion Network member solutions will be pushed through HP’s global direct and indirect sales channels – to drive demand into the ecosystem. 


Al Sodowski, from 451 Research shared his perspective on demand side hybrid cloud adoption trends, OpenStack momentum and factors influencing cloud service providers. 


We also reviewed key Helion Network program benefits that HP is driving for service providers, ISVs, and value added resellers who join the ecosystem, including:

  • Go-to-Market
  • Cloud Services Enablement
  • Financial Innovation
  • Co-Marketing and Sales Enablement

Key Takeaways from the Summit

The Summit covered a lot of material – but the key takeaways on hybrid cloud and the Helion Network are clear.


The Helion Network ecosystem will meet key end-customer hybrid cloud needs:

  • Flexibility and choice when it comes to choosing a cloud provider
  • Open, standards-based cloud with no vendor lock-in
  • Access to services across boarders that will allow them to meet data protection and data sovereignty requirements

  • Resellers need to move to a services centric business model and offer hybrid solutions to their customers; consisting of on and off premise cloud services combined with their own value-added professional services

Next Steps

We will launch phase 1 of the Helion Network in November and we’re looking to on-board the next wave of partners to support the build out and focus on delivering open standards based cloud services to customers around the world.
