HPE Announces collaboration with Microsoft on hybrid cloud computing


At Discover London 2015 Meg Whitman, CEO of HPE, announced a three-year collaboration to advance innovation in Hybrid Cloud computing through Microsoft Azure and HPE infrastructure. Microsoft and HPE share the same hybrid IT approach for enterprises and see opportunity to help customers accelerate and simplify their journey to the cloud.

The investments span new integration between Microsoft Azure and HPE infrastructure, a hyper-converged hybrid cloud system, and the opening of a new Azure Engineering Center with plans to train 5,000 HPE Azure Cloud Architects. These commitments to a preferred partnership represents big news for customers transforming their business through cloud solutions. So what does this mean for enterprises looking to HPE for a hybrid IT strategy?

  1. This announcement enhances the #HPEHelion Right Mix strategy, helping customers to create a hybrid infrastructure based on private cloud, public cloud and traditional IT. Customers can now choose HPE and Microsoft Azure cloud solutions in addition to the HPE hybrid cloud solutions for OpenStack, VMware and AWS compatible private clouds for a seamless hybrid cloud experience. HPE will play our strengths in private and managed cloud and integrate Microsoft committed to helping our customers transform to hybrid cloud regardless of their public cloud platform.
  2. HPE will extend its private cloud and managed cloud solutions, including HPE Helion CloudSystem, HPE Helion Virtual Private Cloud, and HPE Helion Managed Private offerings with Azure services to bring customers an open, agile, more secure hybrid infrastructure. HPE will also deliver of a portfolio of engineered hybrid cloud solutions, first available is HPE Hyper-Converged 250 for Microsoft Cloud Platform System Standard.
  3. The HPE and Microsoft partnership will strengthen our partner ecocystem. Microsoft has joined the HPE Composable Infrastructure Partner Program to advance the integration of Microsoft System Center and HPE OneView automation. HPE has joined Microsoft programs that help customer accelerate their hybrid cloud journey. HPE Partners will be able to combine the industry’s most powerful private cloud portfolio - including HPE Helion CloudSystem, HPE Helion OpenStack, HPE Helion Cloud Management and Microsoft Azure based solutions – with cloud services available throughout HPE Helion Network and Cloud 28+ community in Europe.

This announcement strengthens the #HPEHelion Right Mix cloud strategy, enabling HPE customers to deploy a hybrid cloud environment that offers greater choice. HPE customers can now deploy a hybrid cloud using the two largest public cloud providers, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), integrated with a private cloud solution, HPE Helion CloudSystem, using OpenStack and/or VMware technology.
