How Hybrid Cloud Computing Accelerates Mobility

So much of our daily lives happens on the go. We converse via text, messaging apps and by phone – yes, still. We research products on lunch and purchase them on the way home. We manage projects, review documents, respond to emails, and write speeches. We search for new recipes, schedule meetings on the fly, watch movies in bed, and check-in at our favorite restaurants. We can even order food from our seats at the Super Bowl using our mobile devices.

Mobile is pervasive. Analysis by Smart Insights indicates almost 90 percent of mobile-phone time is spent in mobile apps. Within organizations, the average number of internal-use apps is 35. There is a very real advantage for companies to integrate mobility with employees, end users, and every person in between.

But even with all this initiative toward mobility, enterprise-level businesses are finding it difficult to deploy reliable, high-performance, cost-efficient mobile programs. If this sounds like your challenge as well, then keep reading because we want to introduce you to the concept of hybrid cloud computing.

What is Hybrid Cloud?

In its simplest form, hybrid cloud computing is a combination of public clouds, private clouds, and on-premises assets. It enables you to scale resources up and down as needed while you control the whereabouts of sensitive data.

With a hybrid cloud infrastructure, IT can rapidly deploy cloud resources for developers who need to code and test. They can allocate more or less cloud real estate when mobile traffic patterns change. And they can do so without cumbersome deployment and maintenance tasks. In other words, less bottleneck.

Why Hybrid Cloud Matters for Mobile

In mobile business, however, it isn’t just about how quickly we make room for developing, testing and launching new apps. It is also about how we make these new ways of doing business more secure, whether it maps to BYOD environments or mobile consumers.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) helps businesses in the enterprise embrace this mobility risk with end-to-end security tools. Integrated with our hybrid cloud services, these tools empower organizations to bring new products to market with increased confidence and protection.

The way we see it, business is not just happening on mobile – business IS mobile. Hybrid cloud computing is the linchpin to developing better user experiences on the go and achieving a greater return on your cloud investments.

If you currently use AWS public cloud, you can quickly move to hybrid cloud by building a private cloud on your own machine with HPE Helion Eucalyptus FastStart.
