Run your application in the Infrastructure environment that best suits your needs

Today, we are excited to announce completing the integration of our Stackato acquisition into the Helion product portfolio: HPE Helion Stackato is our Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering based on Cloud Foundry technology that enables customers to easily develop and deploy Cloud-Native Applications.  HPE Helion Stackato underscores our commitment to Cloud Foundry as the muti-vendor open-source community that underpins our next-generation Cloud Platform.  It also underscores our commitment to the Hybrid Cloud: with this release, customers can now create and manage Cloud Foundry clusters on AWS, Azure, and VMWare, in addition to OpenStack.  HPE Helion Development Platform continues to be our solution for customers who want a tight integration with HPE Helion OpenStack infrastructure and managed application services.

What does HPE Helion Stackato enable?

HPE Helion Stackato is build on Cloud Foundry v2 technology and uses Docker containers to package and deploy applications. Here are some highlights:

  • Self contained virtual appliance that can be deployed on any infrastructure — public or private
  • Ensure application availability by using placement and availability zones
  • Deploy and manage pre-existing Docker images
  • Heterogeneous language support
  • Use the included data and messaging services, or connect to existing ones
  • Configurable application autoscaling
  • Consolidated application and system logging
  • Web management console provides comprehensive provisioning and diagnostic support
  • Automatic application versioning and rollback

When your application can run on any infrastructure, not all choices are equal

HPE Helion Stackato is also the Cloud Foundry technology underpinning for HPE Helion Development Platform. For applications that need to run on private, controlled environments, whether the driving forces are security, regulatory or financial, HPE’s Helion Development Platform is a complete enterprise offering including HPE Helion Stackato and is tightly integrated with HPE Helion OpenStack and HPE Helion CloudSystem.

In addition, when installing HPE’s Helion Development Platform on HPE Helion OpenStack or CloudSystem 9.0, our PaaS solution also includes tightly-integrated application and platform services. We have bundled together the best of the latest technologies for databases, messaging services and beyond, and made it available as managed services, ready for enterprise use without the overhead of additional administrators and experts.

Talk to us at Cloud Foundry Summit in Berlin!

The HPE Helion team continues to support Cloud Foundry Foundation by participating in the Cloud Foundry Summit, currently underway in Berlin. We are excited to team up with the Cape2Cape project at our booth, demonstrating how an application built on Cloud Foundry provided a real-time dashboard for a world-record holder project of traveling by car from South Africa to the North-most tip of Norway in 9 days, with an internet-connected car. The car collects a wide range of data, which is then sent to a database and ultimately to a live dashboard powered by HPE Helion Development Platform. Visit us at booth #11 to learn more and meet the record holders or try HPE Helion Stackato today.
