HP is pleased to announce general availability of the next-generation HP CloudSystem, the industry’s most complete, integrated and open solution for building and managing clouds.

First announced at HP Discover in December, the next-generation HP CloudSystem offers enterprise customers a fast, simple path to the cloud while simultaneously managing existing traditional IT assets.

More than 1,900 cloud customers worldwide provided HP with feedback to enhance the next-generation HP CloudSystem. These improvements are designed to help enterprises gain greater control of their hybrid environments, with new, consumer-inspired user interfaces that increase the productivity of cloud service consumers and administrators, alike. This single cloud management platform enables users to manage all cloud services—both within their private clouds and services they get from public clouds.

To meet enterprise customers’ desire to utilize open source technologies for their attractive economics and flexibility, the next-generation HP Cloud System is powered by HP Cloud OS. It is based on HP’s implementation of OpenStack, providing customer choice and helping them avoid vendor lock-in.

Additional details on the next-generation HP CloudSystem include:

  • Admin console—aligned with HP OneView look and feel
  • The new topology designer lets architects define cloud services and supports the Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications (TOSCA)
