The wait is over. Welcome to ski and service provider season.

chuck adams.PNGBy guest Blogger: Chuck Adams, AMS Director, Partner Ready Service Provider program, Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Here in Denver, Colorado, and here at the new Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company, the ski and service provider season opens today, November 1.

Let’s examine the parallels here.  According to Wikipedia (a highly trusted site), skiing is a mode of transport in which participants use skis to glide on snow.

The Hewlett Packard Enterprise Partner Ready Service Provider program is a mode of extending market reach whereby HPE-backed service providers glide into new accounts using: - Market development funds for demand generation - HPE’s large sales force, extensive pre-sales resources, and robust channel for account introductions

As an “expert” skier who is not afraid of blue squares, and as an HPE service provider director, I am ready for opening day. I have scoped out the new runs, purchased the best equipment, and bought my season pass -- I am ready.

The market place runs

At Hewlett Packard Enterprise, we have scoped out the cloud XaaS landscape.  Check out what Gartner had to say: According to Gartner, 2014 was a year of reckoning for many cloud IaaS providers, and many believe that their current strategy is failing them. Some providers intend to launch an entirely new cloud IaaS platform, make substantial changes to their current platform or move to providing managed services on leading cloud IaaS platforms. Many providers have indicated that they intend to discontinue or significantly reduce their investment in their cloud IaaS offerings, and others intend to eliminate or replace them. 1.

Yep. Looks like moving into the next year, the XaaS slopes are becoming less crowded thanks to more grooming by elite service providers.

Within the HPE Partner Ready Service Provider program, we are working with our service providers to co-develop cloud solutions, which help further differentiate our partnership in the market.

Best equipment

Service providers need to be able to trust their equipment on the slopes. To assist our service providers in securing best-in-class equipment and technologies, we are working within HPE product marketing and financial services for the best pricing and financial flexibility on new HPE Converged Infrastructure, Software, and the Helion Cloud portfolio.

Season pass

Starting today, on November 1, 2015, you will see a new Hewlett Packard Enterprise and a stronger commitment to service providers. I’m ready. Are you?

See you on the slopes!
