A5158A Switched Fabric Environment

Hello,

I'm trying to determine if the A5158A PCI FC Adapter installed on a HP9000 L & N class host will support Fiber Channel Switched Fabric mode using a Brocade FC SilkWorm switch. Both HP hosts are currently running HPUX 11.0.

If the A5158A adapter does support switched fabric mode, what patches are required to get this functionality?

Does the A5158A autosense if the host is connected to an arbitrated loop or a switched fabric? If it does not autosense, how does one change the setting to accomodate the appropriate environment?

To get the updated driver for the Tachyon FC Adapter click on the 'Try Now' button and fill out reg form to dowload. Pay attention to the installation notes too.

Your suggestion did the trick. I loaded 1 patch (PHKL_21381) plus the driver you had mentioned in your response. Now th HP9000 L-Class server works fine in a switched fabric topology.
