Re: BIB and rendezvous

Hi

BIB -means boot-is-blocked.
Rendezvous - Means that all cells are spinning on the BIB and have reached a certain state in time that they can all be started now to go ahead to execute boot codes simultaneously.
just after all the configured cells in an NPAR reach their BIB and boot of the NPAR is Enabled, the BIB is released for all of them and Cells reach a certain level and start executing the boot codes together.

BIB state is meant to wait for other cells which can take larger time to become ready for launching the boot(like a cell may have a larger no of processors and memory and takes a longer time to initialize).
When a cell has done CPU and Memory initialisations, a flag BIB is set that its boot is blocked is set, so that the other Cells in the NPAR also Initialse. After all the Cells have initialised and all of them Have BIB set, reach at a commin position(which you can call rendezvous), the BIB flag of the cells is removed simultaneously(that you call BIB is Cleared) and the Cells start remaining of the Boot Sequences and Join the NPAR boot.
