CPU Upgrade into a HP N4000

Hi guys,

I need to put 2 new cpus in my N4000, now this server is with 4 cpus and I will put more 2. I know there are some requirements to increase the number of cpu in N4000, anything related to voltage, but I don't know exactly.
Please, anyone can tell me a documentation that talks about that...

regards..

Re: CPU Upgrade into a HP N4000

You need to add another power pod (this is the big metallic box that you can see when the top cover is open).

Hope this helps!

Re: CPU Upgrade into a HP N4000

The part that you will need is called a 'Processor Support Module'. Bear in mind that there are 2 varieties of these, depending on the cpu speed. For the N4000, the one I know if is A5168A, (for use with the 360, 440, and 550MHz cpu's. I'm not sure of the other part number, but come to think of it, that one was specific to the rp7400 version, (c revision,) I think.

One is required for every 2 cpu's installed in the N4000.

Hope this helps.

Hope this helps!

Re: CPU Upgrade into a HP N4000

Ooops, too long ago I opened an n-class - Ron was correct, there are 4 modules.
