HP 3000/987SX memory question

will 1.5GB / 6 x 256MB memory kits be supported on a 987 running MPE/ix 6.5?

I believe the answer is yes. Many moons ago I had a 987 with 1.5 GB and we did test 6.5 on it. Paul Courry, # 4 on this august list did the upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5 and did some really GREAT work...

Hello Jesse,

Maximum Main Memory for an e3000 s987 server is 768MB.
King is the customer!

Thanks Chuck, that should be good enough for me. We have never loaded up the third party 256MB kits on a 9x7 box before and wasn't sure it was going to like all that memory.

Thanks for the response Emile but the HP memory can only take us to 768MB total because the A2516A is the biggest they have for the 9x7 so were going to use the third party 256MB kits to bring us to the 1.5GB
