HP 9000 807S console
I found an old HP9000 807S server in a closet. I have 700/96 console attached to it. As it is old equipment I have no manuals.
Fortunately I can login as "root" - but my console works strange. It does not scroll the text screen after filing it (with the results of "ls -al" command fro example. All the next lines are writen in the last line of the sreen. When i do "echo $TERM" i get "70096" answer. Can anybody tell me what is wrong ?

Re: HP 9000 807S console
The $TERM variable is incorrect. Try different $TERMs to see if any will work. Check out the terminfo files and see what other choices are available.

Re: HP 9000 807S console
Hardware wise, the default configuration is what is needed. ****Don't do this for N,L,A400, or A500 because they require vt100 mode to operate properly****. On the 700 terminal, power it off and hold the "d" key down when powering it back on. After ~10 seconds take your finger off the "d" key and it will come back with this message... "Default Configs Used Press Return To Clear". Hit return and you will have the terminal set correctly for your 9000/3000 system.
