Re: HP Server class

Hello,

Ok, seeing rp#### instead of D, R, T or the like might have confused you.

L-class server => rp54## server
N-Class server => rp7400 server

These are the latest servers. The difference between them is scalability. 4CPUs for L-Class max, 8 for the N. Double the amount of memory in N, double the IO slots... double the size :-)

The D and R class are basically the same machines. R class stands for Rackmountable D. But, there are only R380 and R390, no lower. So R380 and R390 = D380 and D390. They used to be quite popular but are now obsolete.

The T class used to be a high-end server before it went obsolete. They are quite old now, although you may still find some T600s in the field.

The only servers which you can buy now are the L and N class servers, under the name of rp5400, rp5430, rp5450, rp5470 (L) and rp7400 (N).
