OK, now I connected a CRT to the console card, and I got to MP and then to CM. I checked the lan config and the ip address for the lan console is wrong. if anyone has a link to MP manual I would really appreciate it.

Connect via serial line or web browser and check

EL : Enable/disable LAN access

Most likely telnet is disabled.

I got the ip address and the lan console enabled, and now i can telnet to console but i don't get a MP or GSP prompt:


Connected to 172.17.2.2.
Escape character is '^]'.
Local flow control off

Service Processor login: Admin
Service Processor password:




Hewlett-Packard Guardian Service Processor


9000/800/N4000-55 System Name: n4000-console





any ideas?

Resolved the problem. it was just the ^Ecf that i was missing.
