Re: L CLASS SERVER
It sounds like system is not able to SEArch hardware components ( disks, CD-ROM and tapes ) ...
Did you modify your SCSI-IDs by replacing a new disk, tape or CD-ROM ?
If so, Check if there is no identical values between at least two drives.

Re: L CLASS SERVER
And if so have there been made any changes to the system since last boot? I often find that changes being made after last boot are not detected until you boot again.
Annyway this soulds like HW problem as the system is unable to find ANY bootable device. Check you SCSI cables, connectors and terminators. Also make sure you dont havetwo devices with the same address (including the address of the controller).

Trond

Re: L CLASS SERVER
A search of boot devices is terminated by pressing any key, a terminal configured to give an auto carage return ( is any key) will terminate the search. so sea
If this is not the answer not call HP.

Re: L CLASS SERVER
I agree with Trond, that this problem is regarding h/ware. Because its cannot find the bootable device. I think you have check the connection as what Trond have said and don't let the scsi id conflict, make sure the pin in your scsi cable is ok :-)
