Can anyone tell me how to check the MP firmware version of a rp8420 server?

Hi,

from the OS you will see the PDC Revision (e.g. via stm). Since this is likely unique to each firmware revision, this is a good hint about the fw version.

Anyway, it is much better to run

MP:CM> sysrev

to see all components firmware.

Example for rev 4.1:
