Moving processors

I have two N4000-55's, one has two processors in it and only runs netbackup Data center and controls a couple of robotic arrays. The second has 6. I upgraded to a workgroup version of Informix for $80K this past weekend which only supports up to 4 processors, the enterprise version was $300K so I need to move two processors out and return them back to the backup server. I have been looking for a diagram of the layout with no luck. Have not had a N box open in over 5 years and I need this to be a fast bounce. Looked thru the docs and while it covers memory and IO cards nothing on CPU's or what the layout looks like inside, any links to docs and tips appreciated.
I also do not know what the memory layout looks like, map command output from cstm.

hi,

the removal od cpu's should be quite straight forward.

from memory you populate the front 4 slots first under the front top cover before filling the back 4 up. so it will probably be the ones under the rear top cover.

that aside, the details of the cpu location and slot numbers is all on the under top cover, once the main top cover is removed.

as for your memory you only have 1 memory extender(carrier) installed in the systema nd all your memory is on this one carrier. Aslo located under the rear cover.

Processor load order on the N4000 is 1, 3, 5, 7 in the back, then 0, 2, 4, 6 in the front. Be aware that a processor support module is required for every 2 processors. Also, be very careful with the surface of the cpu. The material that covers it is very delicate. If you lose even one 'button' on the MPI connector, it could rendeer your system unbootable. And, remember to swipe out the sockets before you insert the cpu.
