Network storage for HP K460

Currently i have some old HP server of K460 and currently i running out of disk space for my oracle database. So the idea is that I want to set up a NAS/SAN for the K460 server but not sure whether the server is able to support NAS/SAN. If it is able to support, what is the best solution for this? also what is the interface card i need at the server side.

Re: Network storage for HP K460

hi goh,

depending on you OS version. K class is quite old and storage options is quite limited.

There are 2 type of scsi storages are widely used and compatible with K class.

1) hass storage (JBOD) A3312A
2) Nike 20 storage (RAID) A3232A

If you're running older os version < 11.0, then it would be practical to get this boxes. You require scsi adapter A2969A.

If you looking at fibre channel solutions, purchase A6685A HSC tachlite fibre adapter. To install this, you k460 firmware level must be at 41.33

Really appreciate if you cld assign some points if this answer your question.

Re: Network storage for HP K460

Hi All thanks for the response.... So base on the suggestion, most of the product is already obsolete... So base on my current configuration, the current server is aready attached to a storage module. info as follow:
Server : k460
OS: HP UX 10.2
Disk array : HA A3312AZ with 4.3G FWD disk
So another alternative is to replace the current disk with disk that of bigger capacity. the info I get so far for the disk support for the mention below. So problem is that not sure is the disk really able to be supported in the mention HA disk module. Hope for some advise... Thanks in advance...
