Problem booting RP5470 Ignite tape on RP 7400 & RP5450
Hi
Got an Ignite tape that was created on a 5470 and when I attempt to recover onto either of the above types of systems it get the following error. I thought it may have been bacuse of old GSP & PDC firmware but now these are all upto date I still get the same error.
It looks to me like it can't recognise the CPU's although another tape created on an almost identical RP5470 works fine.
Any ideas?

Re: Problem booting RP5470 Ignite tape on RP 7400 & RP5450
I'm beginning to suspect there may be a problem with the Ignite tape as I've attempted to extract the archive using pax & tar.
I get 2 different errors although they occur about the same time on reading the tape.
If I use tar I get a couple "directory checksum error" then the after a short wait drops back to the prompt.
With pax I get the following errors;
pax: /dev/rmt/2m : This doesn't look like a tar archive
pax: /dev/rmt/2m : Skipping to next file...
Both these messages get repeated twice before it jumps back to the prompt. I'm looking to see if the tape can get recreated on a new drive and test that.

Re: Problem booting RP5470 Ignite tape on RP 7400 & RP5450
When trying to extract the tape contents with pax/tar are you skipping over the boot section of the tape first?
Rewind the tape
# mt -f /dev/rmt/?mn rew
Skip the boot section of the tape
# mt -f /dev/rmt/?mn fsf 1
Now run pax/tar to extract the tape
# tar -tvf /dev/rmt/?mn
As to the errors you are receiving above, I suppose they could be related since they only seem to occur with this tape.
Have you tried recreating the tape on the rp5470 with a different/new tape?
Rewind the tape
# mt -f /dev/rmt/?mn rew
Skip the boot section of the tape
# mt -f /dev/rmt/?mn fsf 1
Now run pax/tar to extract the tape
# tar -tvf /dev/rmt/?mn
