Relocating nic cards

I have a recently decommissioned rp7440 and I would like to remove its nic cards and use them on a DR server, also an rp7440. Physically, would there be any issues involved like nic cards having unique wwn?

Re: Relocating nic cards

As long as you are moving the cards between the same model servers there should be no problems whatsoever.

Re: Relocating nic cards

Hi Frederick,

A NIC doesn't have any WWN, unless it is a combo card. Other than that, AFAIK the chassis of a machine mustn't be opened by the customer, only a certified HP engineer should touch the inner parts. Otherwise your warranty voids. (Ok, for a 20-year old D-class it would be ok to replace/insert the hardware.)
