Secure Web Console for rp5470 and rp7400

Hello all, I want to use a HP Secure Web Console J3591A, with rp5470 and rp7400 HP9000 servers. Is this model of SWC the right one for this servers?

AND the most important question:

Could I be able to access/control the servers via the Internet with this device? (I need a static IP address for my router, I know).

Best regards.

I don't think you need this.

The SWC translate serial to network, so you can use the GSP directly and have the same functionality.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Thank you Torsten. Do you mean I connect directly the GSP-network connection to the router... so what port should I redirecto when configuring the NAT? Regards.

Torsten, I think could be good to have both connections, network *and* serial through SWC, just in case one don't respond, could be?

The GSP on these systems use the serial ports for thier consoles.  They are pretty much hand in hand....so, if by chance the GSP is offline, its a good chance your serial port will be as well.  The GSP LAN is given a static IP address which you can then route as needed.  Rev B of these (use the HE command to note the version) can also utilze http access (though not https).
