Security method of wiping data from hard drive

I have am HP K-Class Server that is at it end of life, I am preparing it for surplus for security reason I want to ensure data is not recoverable. Could someone provide some ideas or is possible pre made script. This is a UNIX system.

Robert:

You can use HP-UX "mediainit" utility

or UniShred Pro from Los Alamos Tech

or my favorite:

I recommend a very big magnet as a good idea.
