Transforming a K460 into a 979KS

Hello,

We want to transform a K460 into an MPE server 979KS. What do we need to change in the hardware of the K460 in order to make it MPE compatible? Do we need to change only the Core IO or we need to do something else?

Thanks for your help in advance,
Vince

Re: Transforming a K460 into a 979KS

Vincent,
You are my hero. Currently is all about changing 3000 server to 9000. You want to do it the other way around. Great!
The most important thing during this operation is the change of the SWCAP and modelstring. This can only be done with SS_Config by an HP engineer. And you are right, you need a '3000 core IO'

Re: Transforming a K460 into a 979KS

My answer to this question caused some confusion. Because of this, I would like to add an important note:

There is no legal way to transform an HP9000 to e3000 Server. If you require such a transformation I recommend you to contact your local hp sales rep to verify the possibility of a return credit when you buy a new server.
