For our intanium servers the patch was PHKL_34588
Unfortunately i cant remember what the patch was for the pa_risc servers as it was years ago.

The iLO firmware and the DVD drive isn't related at all. In my machine (same model) I found a small sticker at the top of the drive, this was "pressing" the drive and prevents the open operation. After removing this sticker it worked without any problem.

we were able to open the dvdrom by pushing the button when we needed to update the ilo firmware. it's after the update that we encountered the problem. when we push the button nothing happen, no light flashing, like there was no power on it.
