dtc48 INSTALL ON A-500

I HAVE BEEN ASKED TO INSTALL A DTC 48 P/N 2345A
ON A NEW 3000 A-500 SO THAT THEY CAN USE SOME OLDER SERIAL 2564 LINE PRINTERS.

HAS ANYONE OUT THERE BEEN THROUGH THIS PROCESS AND HAVE INSTRUCTIONS THAT THEY CAN SHARE WITH ME?

Adding a DTC is not difficult. You can learn about NMMGR here:

Basically, you give the DTC a nodename and then a "domain.organization" that matches your host's "domain.organization," enter the LAN Station address (MAC address), assign a LDEV number and profile name to a DTC port, and then validate "DTS/Link". The 256x printers should be connected to a DTC port that uses a "TT22" term-type (in the profile) for a direct-connect printer, or "TT26" for a modem or mux-connected printer.

Another option is: obtain a centronics port for the printer (replace the serial port), connect an external JetDirect, and configure as a network printer as described in chapter 3 of the Native Mode Spooler Manual:
