We have a N class machine with 8 CPU cores.
and there is a need to de -activate 2 cores from the machine.
Would any body help me with this?

SolutionYou can make use of the HP-UX WLM(Workload Manager).

Also, check the cpuconfig command in the EFI shell.
Shell> cpuconfig
...
-> displays current CPU configuration
Shell> cpuconfig [cpu-number] [on|off]
-> Turn on/off CPU's

Configuration Menu: Enter command > cpu 8 off

As said by Torsten, you can disable the cpu's from the boot menu. before that go to the Information menu and check the CPU numbers.
