Re: rp 5430 server Not Power On

hi,

well you are within the operating temperature range of 5-35c so should be ok now. also the ps output looks normal for a system not powered on.

you may have a problem with the power monitor pca? could you open the top of the server and see what or which if any leds are on/blinking on the power monitor pca. this is the upright board at the side of the server from the system board.

when you try and power the server on do you get anything on the local console output? does it start and stop or just dead? and chassis codes

also see this manual for troubleshooting and checking the voltages present to see what is working

http://docs.hp.com/en/rp54xx_Update/rp54xx_Update.pdf

also the timer popping error is due to the firmware most likely, of the GSP.

type he in the gsp to see what version you have installed

Re: rp 5430 server Not Power On

hi,

well it looks more like there's a software problem now. good news is that you have mirrored boot disks.

so let it boot as far as pdc and stop it from booting and then boot the alternate boot path. this should boot the other mirror, and see how you go. lets see if you get the same result

Re: rp 5430 server Not Power On

Hi,

Looks like this system is due to a HW fault ..

Log Entry # 3 :
SYSTEM NAME: webconsole
DATE: 06/10/2010 TIME: 17:41:14
ALERT LEVEL: 2 = Non-Urgent operator attention required

CALLER ACTIVITY: 6 = machine check STATUS: 2
CALLER SUBACTIVITY: 51 = implementation dependent
REPORTING ENTITY TYPE: 0 = system firmware REPORTING ENTITY ID: 02

Can you collect PIM from BCH and attach here, may be i will be able to analyze it...

BCH ==> service menu ==> PIM command

Best Regards,
Prashanth
