Accessing rp2405 GSP from Unix
We have a rp2405 that we are sending to a different site. I can jump on to the GSP, get to a hp-ux login and alter the LAN0 IP address info. I suppose I can change the GSP IP address while I'm on there, but I was wondering if there is a way to interact with the GSP from the hp-ux command line to alter the IP addres. I know that in the Solaris world you can interact with the system console from the command line but I've only found references to using /dev/GSPdiag1 for changing usernames/passwords.

Re: Accessing rp2405 GSP from Unix
No, there is no access from hp-ux to the GSP to configure.
Connect a terminal emulator (e.g. PC with putty) via serial line to do the modification.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Accessing rp2405 GSP from Unix
Thanks. I thought that might have been the case. I'll just change it within GSP before it moves and hope for the best. After that, PC/laptop with a cross over cable and putty. :)

Re: Accessing rp2405 GSP from Unix
If the rp2405 maintenance port is connected
to your LAN, you can telnet from HP-UX to
the maint port and logon to the GSP
there ... so, technically, it is accessible
from Unix :)
I, too, have only found the stty GSP reset
string (but, BTW, it worked well for me)
for direct GSP access.
