Attention light flashing on HP rp5430

Hello

I have a HP rp5430. The box works fine but the attention light on the front panel flashes. The fault light is off. The machine has 2 power supplies and 4 x 36 gig drives , two processors and 8 gig memory. It doesnt seem like a serious fault as all users are working normal. Is there a reason for this how can i check or what command can i run to find out whats wrong. Thanks in advance

To turn off the attention light you need to go into the MP/GSP and do the sl, show logs command. There may be an error there too.

Re: Attention light flashing on HP rp5430

it is just that u have not read your sl/f logs

Do this and the led should go off...

MP>SL>E>D>Y
MP>Sl>F>D>Y

And now check the attention led....

I don't think so. From the "MP>" prompt you first type "SL". Then it prompts you and then you type "E", then probably another two prompts for the "D" and "Y".

Re: Attention light flashing on HP rp5430

Dear friends, the rp5430 (aka L1500) doesn't have a MP - but a GSP.

;-))

Do the following:

GSP> sl

SL

Select Chassis Code Buffer to be displayed:
Incoming, Activity, Error, Current boot or Last boot? (I/A/E/C/L) e
e

Set up filter options on this buffer? (Y/[N]) n

...

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Just by the way you can acces to the GSP by pressing "Ctrl+B" then the GSP will ask you for an user and a password (defaults are no ser no password)and then you can just follow the way Torsten said.

Regards!
