Re: Cabinet Fan error

From the output posted, it should be cell based server. Login to iLo and check the system event logs. It could be a old log trigared again.

Re: Cabinet Fan error

Connect to the MP and run "ps":

MP:CM> ps

PS
System Power state: Off
Temperature : Normal

Power supplies State
-----------------------------------------------------------
Power Supply 0 Normal
Power Supply 1 Normal

Fans State
-----------------------------------------------------------
Fan 0 (System) Normal
Fan 1 (System) Normal
Fan 2 (Pwr) Normal

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Cabinet Fan error

Hello,

I dont have console IP to login to MP. The current status of Fans from cstm is as shown below.

Compute Cabinet 0

Cabinet 0 Hardware Inventory

Component Slots Present Failure
--------- ------ ------- -------
State
-----
Cabinet Fans (Blowers) 6 6 0
NA
Cabinet Power Supplies 2 2 0
NA

In the error posted it says Cabinet Fans=8

Re: Cabinet Fan error

If the fan is working again, you need to search MP logs or syslog to find the old message.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Cabinet Fan error

I have a similar doubt

when i extract info from cstm i see 6 fans. All good

Cabinet 0 Hardware Inventory:
Component Slots Present Failure State
--------- ------- ------- ------- -------
Cabinet Fans (blowers) 6 6 0 NA
Cabinet Power Supplies 2 2 0 NA

From console

Power supplies State

-----------------------------------------------------------

Power Supply 0 Normal

Power Supply 1 Normal

Fans State

-----------------------------------------------------------

Fan 0 (System) Normal

Fan 1 (System) Normal

Fan 2 (Pwr) Normal

cstm shows 6 fans and console shows 3 fans

What am i missing over here?

Thanks in advance

Torsten.

Re: Cabinet Fan error

6 vs. 3 is pretty normal.

3 fan packs, 2 fans per pack = 6 individual fans.

I wonder about my "8", but it must be a problem of old diags.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
