Console Connection...Plug & Play??

I have an N-Class PA-RISC server running 11.23

I need to connect a console to this server while it's running. Will this cause problems with the server. Will I have to reboot for the server to recognize the console??

I have a console that is shared by several servers (rp7410, rx3600, etc) and I commonly unplug it from one to connect it to another. It comes up with no problem. Of course these servers have always had the console. They were first installed using the console, so there may have been some configuring going on then and there, but I'm unaware of any special requirements.

I say go ahead and try it, it should work.

this should have no effect whatsoever on the server, so just do it
