Re: D Class Server is not booting and can't get ISL prompt

There is a prompt: "Press any key within 10 seconds to Interrupt boot" or something to that effect. Press a key at that point.

That is how you get to the ISL prompt. If the system is attempting to boot, then it has gotten past the interrupt prompt.

Re: D Class Server is not booting and can't get ISL prompt

The box will run a number of self-checks and then you will see something like "PRI CONSOLE" displayed on the LCD panel. You should then see something "Press within 10 seconds to interrupt boot". Press and then in the firmware monitor select "BOOT PRI" and you will then see "Interact with IPL/ISL?".
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Shalom,

After doing the 10 second interupt trick.

Lets see if the system sees any disks.

I had given boot pri isl but after message interacting with ipl :Yes, it is not going to ISL prompt & simplyshowing booting. I think ISL is corrupted & needs to be repaired.

Chintan,

Check this doc.

Why will the system boot multiuser mode but not single user mode? DocId: UXDNHBKBRC00002823

Re: D Class Server is not booting and can't get ISL prompt

Hi Fellow Forum Ami:

Note the FLT messages on the LCD panel in front of the box. For if you call HP HW they will ask you the same question. Have a pen and pencil nearby to write down the FLT code. For example, FLT B800. Based upon the fault message you can determine what is failing.

Thanks!
