Re: HP L class server not booting

Each log entry should look like this:

Log Entry # 0 :
SYSTEM NAME: rakki
DATE: 05/26/2009 TIME: 22:00:20
ALERT LEVEL: 3 = System blocked waiting for operator input

SOURCE: 1 = processor
SOURCE DETAIL: 1 = processor general SOURCE ID: 0
PROBLEM DETAIL: 0 = no problem detail

CALLER ACTIVITY: E = system warning STATUS: 0
CALLER SUBACTIVITY: F0 = implementation dependent
REPORTING ENTITY TYPE: E = HP-UX REPORTING ENTITY ID: 00

0xF8E000301100EF00 00000000 0000EF00 type 31 = legacy PA HEX chassis-code
0x58E008301100EF00 00006D04 1A160014 type 11 = Timestamp 05/26/2009 22:00:20

Your log entries seem to be missing a lot of information, although it's probably possible to decode the missing information from the hex strings. Unfortunately, as far as I know, only HP service personnel have access to the necessary decoding tools.

Please type HE to the "GSP>" prompt to view the GSP firmware revision number. If your GSP firmware is *very* old, it might be the reason for the lack of information.

If the GSP firmware revision number begins with letter A, you have a GSP of hardware revision A. For it, the last firmware revision was A.01.12. If the revision number begins with letter B, the up-to-date firmware revision is B.02.21.

Re: HP L class server not booting

Looks like the power supply 1 has failed. You may need to replace it to boot the server.
