Is HP supporting PA-RISC "9000/800/N4000-75"

Hi All,

I would like to know whether HP is supporing PA-RISC 9000/800/N4000-75.

Is another name of 9000/800/N4000-75 is rp7400?

The last document I have, from Jan. 2008, shows that those servers will be supported "Until at least 31-Dec-12".

Re: Is HP supporting PA-RISC "9000/800/N4000-75"

Generally, yes.

If the product number of the server is A3639A or A3639B, then I **THINK** it is still technically an N4000.

If the product number of the server is A3639C, then I **THINK** it is an rp7400.

Since yours has the 750 MHz processors my **guess** is that is an A3639C and thus an rp7400.

To find the product number you would have to look on the server itself, or on your support contract.

I approve!!!

N4000 is RP7400

And This will support Vpar. This and L class are the models which support Vpar with out cell boards.

Even N4000 doesnt have cell boards it has two SBAs.

This is a workstation whose last supported OS is 11.11.

This does not answer your question directly but if HP will not fix the HW for mega-$$ then there are plenty of capable 3rd party vendors that will.
As well as the potential for you to purchase the parts @ a parts store and fix yourself.

Re: Is HP supporting PA-RISC "9000/800/N4000-75"

Shalom,

The end of support date for HP-UX 11.11 is December 31, 2013.

That is when OS support for the workstation ends.

Hardware support seems to end a year earlier December 31, 2012, though I may be wrong about that and support may already be over.

The system is very near obsolete end of life at this time as is the only OS it is certified for.
