MDP compatibility with E-Class server

Hello,

We had some trouble recently connecting a console to an E-Class server. I know that it has to be connected from the MUX port on the core IO to an MDP Panel, then the console connected on Port 0 of the MDP.

This was not working, MDP had the "Link Status" LED amber, we replaced the MDP and it worked.

The part number of the non-working MDP is 5062-3070, whereas the working one is 5062-3054. I checked on partsurfer and it stated that the 5062-3070 does not connect to E-Class servers, but only to the Nova and 8XX series servers. The 5062-3054 stated that the E-Class is compatible.

Can you confirm me that the 5062-3070 is not compatible with E-Class systems, or is it that the 5062-3070 simply is faulty?

Thanks,
Vince

Re: MDP compatibility with E-Class server

Vince,
You are perfectly right. The 5062-3070 and 5062-3054 work on different interfaces:

5062-3070
40299A 40299B A1703-60004 98190A (CIO MUX)

5062-3054

There is no good troubleshooting with bad data
