try login to server via "root" telnet/ssh

# stty +queryGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1

# stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1
Problems are common to all, but attitude makes the difference

Re: MP in rp7410

hi,

if you have physical access to the server,

you oculd connect with a cross cable to the server and on the desktop/laptop you could set a IP from you range that have the GSP, for example GSPIP : 10.36.100.121 and your PCIP :
10.36.100.1 if your net is : 10.36.100.0/24

Re: MP in rp7410

Hi Michal

I'am not sure that I understand what you are trying to say, I have physical access but the servers are shutdown.

I already try to log in a physical console to "MP Serial Port" true a serial cabel. But no luck ( in other's HPUX servers I can accomplish this easily ).

To log in to the servers first I have to power on the CABINET then the CELL true the MP.

Any one have more ideas ?

Thanks in advance.

Re: MP in rp7410

Do you have 2 MP's installed or 1 only?

"...To log in to the servers first I have to power on the CABINET then the CELL true the MP..."

The MP works if power is present, no matter if the server is on or off.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: MP in rp7410

On the rp7410, there are two MP cards marked MP0 and MP1. The lower card (MP1) is the only active card. Connect your serial cable to the lower MP. CTRL-B should work. Then use the LS command to show the MP configuration.

Re: MP in rp7410

Hi

Yes I have two MP. I connect my serial cable to the lower MP. And still can't get the login in the MP via physical console.

Although I already can connect to MP via Lan Console. I take off all the power in the server, connect again the power and now the Lan Console is fine

Ping is ok.

Thanks all by the posts. I will assign some points ..

Best regards.
