I am getting the following error when I turn on my N4000 C chassis after initialization:
Reason for Alert
Source: 8 = I/O
Source Detail: 9 = Serial Source ID: 0
Problem Detail: 3 = functional failure
LCD State: Running non-OS code. Non critical error detected. Check Chassis and Console logs for error messages
I have gone into GSL and cleared the logs, but this doesn't help.
What does this error mean? Thanks for any help

Re: N4000 error on bootup
You need to attach the complete alert message. At the end of it, there are some hex codes that would be able to help determine the problem. See this thread for sample of the chassis error message.

Hi,
see discussion

for this Problem. Basically, you have a wrong Console path configured...
Regards.

Re: N4000 error on bootup
Hi,
I agree ...generally this kind of problem is related with a problem in console path (for N400o the right one is 0/0/4/0.0).
However, if the problem continues, don??t discard a hardward problem in the core card.
